DVD Compression - .avi file
Hey what's good?
I need some help, I have a 6 GIG or more video .avi file that I need to compress so it can fit on a 4.7 DVD. I would like to keep the quality as much as I can. What do I do? |
If you are looking to make a DVD that is playable in DVD players, with or without menus, it must be converted to MPEG-2 format. The process is actually called "encoding"
This page has a sort of step by step outline of the process, including links to some freeware that will help. http://www.newcyberian.com/howto/dvdauthoring.html For encoding TMPGEnc XPress is a neat little product -- not too expensive, but there are many more in higher price range. Encoder here: http://tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/en/product/te3xp.html Good tutorial here: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/arch...ress_guide.cfm Jimmy |
I always use a VirtualDub www dot virtualdub dot org
free and simply utility |
