Design Question

i have a site template which has in image border that's broken up into small pieces.
i.e. a corner, a top bar, a side bar, etc..

i want to change their color but am having a very hard time making each image have the same matching shade. what can i do to make this easier?

I'm not quite sure that I fully understand your question. Are the parts that you are referring to already images (.gif, .jpg, .png, etc)? Or are you manually having to define their hex values (like in CSS)?

you need to grab the Photoshop or Fireworks version, and then change the color of that layer. Once it is the color you like, export the slices again.

so i change the layer color for all slices at once in photoshop instead of one at a time?

If you have the source file yes .. but I take it you don't

In that case what I would do is copy and paste each image into a new PSD and line them up like a puzzle ,
Then select all layers and go in the menu to
Layer - new layer based slices

This will automatically slice each image to the correct dimensions
Then double click each image layer and add the original file name .
Make the changes you want to make and export , taking care to make sure the images save as JPEG or GIF as they were originally .

Honestly it's probally less work to just redo the border ,but if you're in a situation where it's not an option that's how I'd do it .

Hit me up if you have any questions or problems and I would be happy to help you out .
