candyflip 06-26-2006 11:39 AM

I've had my Macbook now for a week and have been using this program to run my submitters.

http://parallels.com

Phoenix 06-26-2006 11:43 AM

this thread is hotter then people know

tenderobject 06-26-2006 11:43 AM

yaay thanks man!

which submitters are you using in your macbook pro?

do you think its possible to use parallels in my dual g5 machine?
not an intel based mac :(

Broda 06-26-2006 11:45 AM

GallerySubmitter.com runs off your server. And the interface works on virtual pc on a mac if you're running IE on it.

I think it's only for Intel based Macs. VirtualPC isn't all that bad if that's what you have to work with. I have used it in the past, but Parallels beats even being able to dual boot.

Hell House Vic 06-26-2006 11:59 AM

The only problem with Virtual PC is that it is so god damned slow. Everything will run in it, just sometimes extremely slow.

gooddomains 06-26-2006 12:01 PM

get a cheap ass PC

Hey guys...

A Mac OS X native submitter will be ready in 2-3 months. R1 is currently in Alpha, The Beta will be ready in 6-8 weeks. I can't say too much right now but it's really different to the Windows submitters, as you might expect.

I'd love to be part of the beta test.

It worked, but I really didn't like the program. That was about 3 years ago now, so that perhaps it has improved.

You're a Mac user?

Sparks 06-26-2006 07:47 PM

I've been thinking about buying a Mac when I am up for a new computer in August, so I've been wondering the same thing. I use Chameleon and it was something I was going to checkout...

That's what I use too. It runs like it does on a PC when using Parallels.

Virtual PC should be no problem with Chameleon. Didn't try the others but I see not issue even on a G5.

try to install free Chameleon demo version (non-functional) to see if works on your comp.

You can download the free demo here:
http://www.chameleonsubmitter.com/demo.php

If anyone is interested, add your aim/icq to this thread and I'll add you to my Adium list.

It would be nice to speak to more adult-mac webmasters actually.

KeithFN 06-27-2006 03:39 AM

if you manage to install it, launch the program and browse inside (which is enabled in demo), that a good sign of having it working IMHO.

macmark 09-06-2006 06:12 AM

Check my sig. It's still not ready but the app icon rocks.

It's going good, development is taking longer than expected because it's proven difficult to find a decent Mac OCR tool to develop with so that's taken up the last few weeks.

I've been using the submitter now daily for the last 2 months, the actual submitting part is awesome. I know you'll love it when it's done.

I'm not sure when I'll be able to hand out a beta, and when I do it will be a closed beta I think.

Contact me on aim if you're interested in the app.

yup thats what in my second option bro.. why not? but its much better if you are working in your main workstation rather working on a crappy cheap computer.. it make a lot more easier co's you don't need to have a new routine on how you will setup your stuff.

Captain Canada 10-22-2006 06:18 PM

Just as an aside - if you are already using Chameleon Submitter dont download IE7 - it doesnt allow the Chameleon Submitter to automatically upload the thumb.
