I need to format my comp. and get windblows xp but I cant remember all my passwords in CuteFtp...

How can I see what is behind the stars?

there's an application that reveals what's behind ** but only on windows 95/98/ME prompts and i don't think it works at all when it comes to applications.

actually the program if i remember well just reads a pwl file that these old O.S. have. If you are interested i can locate it easily

In CuteFtp, do a: "File->Site Manager" to open the Site Manager. Then a "File->Export to text file->Full site info" and you will get a text file with all the data and passwords in plain text.
