Firefox 2.0

Has a built in spell checker for all forms. Won't help some of the atrocious grammar here, but will help the bad spellers.

It's not even beta yet. Alpha release 3. I've been using it on my Mac for a week now and not a single issue.

Vitasoy 06-25-2006 10:43 PM

I'll wait for the final release.

Pornwolf 06-25-2006 10:53 PM

Looks like quality. The only thing I hate about Firefox updates is that they usually kill my favorite plug ins.

Porncash 06-26-2006 12:00 AM

hope firefox 2.0 is better than IE

tony286 06-26-2006 12:01 AM

hmm... should I uninstall 1.5 first?

CynthiaB 06-26-2006 01:19 AM

Last time I did a Firefox update it killed a lot more than my plugins. I lost the ability to scroll properly. I had to do a hard drive roll back to get everything back to normal.

BradM 06-26-2006 01:23 AM

Bah, it will be 6 months before an official release is available for linux :(

Farang 06-26-2006 01:24 AM

doesn't work here :Oh crap

Slow loading pages? What the hell? I've been using mozilla and then firefox since well before the fork, and it has always been perfectly responsive to me.

FF really is a superior browser, not only in features people use, but behind the scenes too. The mozilla renderer has been better than IE's for a long time now, as every designer on the planet can attest to. The plugin modularity is absolutely incredible. I don't know how I'd survive without the Web Developer plugin. In terms of security, while FF has had its share of exploits, it is significantly more secure in terms of numbers and severity of flaws. I've run machines with firefox for months without bothering to install spyware prevention tools, and haven't had a single problem. Just *try* that with IE. Go on, I dare you.

There's already a spell checker for Firefox. It's an extension. Use to be Spellbound, but that hasn't worked since 1.0 or something. Now it's Aspellfox. Works great in 1.5.0.4!
