Don't Use Mobile Phones In Stormy Weather
Doctors at Northwick Park Hospital in London suggested that people should not used mobile phones outdoors during stormy weather - it that could be deadly.

"The doctors also claimed three other cases of people being hit by lightning while talking on a mobile phone in China, Korea and Malaysia, all of whom died of their injuries, BBC News reported."

So 4 people have been struck by lighting while on their cell phones in stormy weather?

Saw something like that on slashdot the other day. Something about if you get hit by lightning without a cellphone there's a flashover effect where the energy gets dispersed throughout the body and is less deadly as opposed to a cellphone directing the energy to the head. Or something to that effect.
In any case, when there's a lightning storm, the last thing on my mind is talking on a cell phone while out in the weather. If I was that type of person, I'd probably also be more likely to stand next to a big tree, lightning rod, or be carrying a huge metal rode around with me. Fucking morons. |
