Anyone here ever use Adobe Gamma to fix display issues?

Basically I've got a 17" dell laptop screen which shows the "correct" colors, brightness, contrast, etc...I've got a brand new 20" dell ultrasharp flat panel, which displays everything with what seems to be outrageous contrast/brightness and some color difference. What I've been told is that Adobe Gamma can profile one display, and set the other with the same settings. Is there truth to this? If so, anyone mind walking me through how to go about this? Sucks having to work off a laptop screen when you've got a 20" in front of your face. :)

Thanks!

JM

I have used QuickGamma with good results.

All I'm trying to basically do is profile the laptop settings, and apply 'em to the 20" dell..but thanks Helix :)
