How long would it take to dl 154MB on dialup?
any ideas?:helpme
19,000 hours...
A week or two.
That bad, huh? Damn...I have a really long video but at that rate what's the point..I'll just piss off my slow connection peeps. :(
You would probably get it faster if you just had someone fedex it to you on CD.
So how can I make it smaller without totally screwing the quality?
LOL it's not me, I've got like 15mb/s or something ridiculous like that.
56k modem average of 10meg an hour
12.5 hours assuming an average of 3.5 Kb/second
I could be using "new" math though. |
cut it into chunks - part_01 part_02

The real answer is that it will take for ever as in never happen. With that many bits, you'll never get through the whole file without corruption, line drop or something.
Assume you mean via FTP. Email attachement would be even worse! |
Probably 12 hours x3 I use to download 150MB movies in 3 days at 8 hours ago.
I downloaded photoshop once on a dialup from usenet...took many hours :winkwink:
This is hypothetical? Right? You're not really connected to the net via a modem?
Shit, sry, didn't realize this thread was kicking after I dipped out...I am NOT ON DIALUP, lol. I'm on the highest connection Bright House will give me.
But some of my members are on dialup, and I have a huge ass video, (haha, pun intended), and I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to make it manageable for them. So it looks like run it through WME and chop it up into sections is the trick. Thanks. :) |
