    Do you use the word "LIKE" ....(RANT)

    Are you a person that uses LIKE in every other word of your speech?

    There is nothing more annoying in my opinion! The use of this word has reached epidemic levels in the English language.

    People say it is a filler word, I say it is a word that is used by people that have very limited vocabulary.

          I stopped hanging out with a female neighbor from Cali because every other word she said was "dude"... it was obnoxious

              Yes, i say it in every other sentence, I don't really know why. I think it's because I live in so cal.

              Plus I work as a webmaster from home so I don't have to be professional and all "corporate" and talk professional. If I had to work in an office I would probably learn to carry myself better. But since I'm my own boss and watch way too much mtv shows, it just rubs off and I say "like", like all the time.

              Plus it helps me retain my youth, it makes me look like I'm 18 when I really am a few yrs away from 30. I look young though for my age so I like to talk the "part" too.

                                      Ahhhhhhh, I was sooo going to make a thread about this dumb habit. I mean, I'm no english expert, I barely manage to write a few words, but this "LIKE" thingy, together with "YOU KNOW" is really annoying. Using it only shows how limited or brainwashed you are. I'm freaked out to see how ppl, especially the younger ones, get dumber every day, reduced to simple monkeys that try to "act" like the their "heroes". It's all a result of the stupid celebrity cult, reality shows and A.I. If a weak mind is watching these days stars and tries to dress and speak like them, this is what you get, ridiculous habits and dumb ppl falling for them, like rants above, thinking they are cool.
                                      It's all about "keep them dumb so you take their money". I'm no conspiracy theorist, but this one is really obvious.

If you listen to virtually any member of the England football squad being interviewed, almost all of their sentences are interspersed with "ya know". Its almost as if the term "ya know" has replaced pausing and breathing in their sentence structure.
