GOOGLE announces CPA Adsense...

" The world?s leading search engine Google, seeking to revamp its Google Adsense programme is currently testing a new online-ad system in which advertisers pay only when their ad leads to a purchase.

The new cost-per-action system will be a separate ad auction system from the current cost-per-click setup. AdSense publishers will be able to choose from a selection of ads and will have more flexibility in promoting the ads. Since they?ll be tied to a purchase, the new ads are expected to be auctioned at higher prices than cost-per-click ads, which cost advertisers every time an ad is clicked on whether or not it leads to a sale. The ads also would cut down on click fraud, which occurs when ads are clicked on without there being any intention of making a purchase... more

will be interesting to see how that turns out. I was unimpressed with adsense since you're so restricted in that you can't bring "extra" attention to the ads without somehow breaking the rules. Then you're not getting as much as if you worked with the advertisers since google and often the affiliate are after their cut too.

This should get interesting.... Valueclick might get bought out by another player because of this development.

Translation: fraud is about to sink adsense so we're moving away from pay per click. If only 12clicks was in charge.

when I started in this business, an advertiser made fun of me because I was only sending about 12 clicks a day to his program.

click fraud is simple to figure out. With all of the info google has at its finger tips, it would be nothing to hire real live traffic anylists to find fraud instead of trying to do it with an algorithm or other such foolishness.

Again, click fraud detection is simple, google just refuses to use the proper amount of human resources to protect itself.

yeah, I don't think they understand all of the good people who will remove their links along with the bad.
huge misstep if you ask me. unless of course, they still expect to CHARGE per click but pay by sale. Then they can fuck both ends of the equation and make money.:winkwink:

that's good and bad at the same time. You may make more money on 1 sale, but it will take longer to make the cash, since less people will buy than click.

dude, enough with the spam. There's nothing special about adbrite. If you've sunk to sending traffic to them, you've failed at monetizing your traffic.
