Correlation between WEALTH and INTELLIGENCE?

What do you guys think about that claimed correlation? Real or BS?

I think the Chinese correlation is somewhat skewed due to bad historical political choices (The Great Leap Forward and The Great Cultural Revolution definitely set the country back).

Some truth, some bullshit.

This part is very important:
Quote:

The co-authors conclude their book by recommending that

"The rich countries' economic aid programs for the poor countries should be continued and some of these should be directed at attempting to increase the intelligence levels of the populations of the poorer countries by improvements in nutrition and the like."
Low scores on intelligence tests in third world countries are often caused by malnutrition at early ages, or a lack of education (mental stimulation is essential in developing your physical brain, as well as your mind).

Good points. Another thing to keep in mind, the larger the population the greater the curve.

I dunno, there are some people making some good coin out there who aren't exactly rich. They're very smart at what they do, but not very smart at managing their money.

Then there are those making an average income and have a of money saved/invested. They're not capable of being a brain surgeon or a rocket scientist but they are smart enough to know what to do with money once they have it.

Intelligence is viewed as an "over all knowledge of everything" where as wealth tends to be a specific knowledge of finances.
