Fuck you, Plumber, you're Fired!

I love the internet... It is so full of both useful and useless information.

I called a plumber about two toilets that didn't work. He came out and charged me $350 for about 30 minutes of work.

One of the toilets isn't working again a month later. I called them and they said they don't warranty the labor, just the parts. So it is $70 to see if it is a part and then possibly another $140 to fix the problem if no more parts are needed.

I asked what if the part he installed is fucked, do I get the labor waived on reinstalling it? Answer: NO.

So I go online to the company that made the part and they have a PDF file on the complete taredown and shit for their parts. Turns out the plumber shoved a washer into a slot with a screw driver and tore it. The torn piece covered the tube and thus no water flow.

Checking my garage I find a sutable washer and replace the torn one.

Cost: $free...

And now that I know how my toilet works, never again will I hire a plumber for it.

I talked to one once... He said the company that dispatches them takes the majority of the fee they charge.

Toilets are one of the easiest things to fix. It's amazing all the info that is online.

They usually try and get you to pay tax on the whole bill also. Should be no tax on labor. Or at least here in FL it's that way.

Usually its the time to find and read the correct info is the pain. But it looks like you did the right thing.
