The same thing works with RSS feeds as well:

I.e. you may send your traffic/import RSS feeds to/from any specified niche, e.g. gay or straight. I believe it should work well.

A bit of PHP coding and wordpress works in a way you wish :winkwink:

What exactly sucks there? If you use RSS feeds, you should import them by niche, e.g.:
http://www.rbblog.com/category/gay/feed/
http://www.rbblog.com/category/straight//feed/

In this case nothing will be mixed. So I really don't understand this "problem". If you really think it's bad, please tell me why? Why can't you use RSS feeds sorted by niche as it shown above?
