1st 24 hours of not smoking
 

Well folks, after 12 years of polluting my lungs with cigarettes, I've finally quit WOOHOO!!! It's only been 24 hours, but to me that is a huge breakthrough! It's the strangest thing though because I quit cold turkey, no patch, nicotene gum or anything, just plain old fashioned cold turkey style and I don't even have a craving which boggles my mind but I'm very happy for that. Smokers are a minority now, use to be the other way around where if you didn't smoke you were considered a nerd/loser, but now non-smokers are the majority and I'm glad to have finally joined the 'other side' lol, it's gonna be strange hanging out with the non-smoking crowd after all these years :)

I quit the same way : cold turkey; it's the best method. The first few days are the hardest, but - most encouraging thing - once you make it past 7 days of cold turkey, you should never smoke again because the cravings go. Well done and best of luck!

thanks tgpmakers, I believe if I can get past the first few days I should be fine, no cravings so far and I just hope it stays that way, won't know for sure I guess until that first stressful thing happens that makes me have the urge to smoke

That's pretty cool, and I'm happy for you, but don't get cocky because you'll lose sight of your goal and start thinking "Gee, it's just one, surely it can't hurt". Good luck!

cool , not bad
been 3 weeks for me without a smoke , i got a cold , quit cold turkey ,
took me about 2 days to get over the cravings , after that it was all easy running

i quit smoking cold turkey about a month ago, and i still crave atleast once a day... but it does get better everyday, so dont give in, and if you start craving just keep yourself busy, post, read, make galleries, just keeping busy is the key!
