icq keeps logging off and saying my # is being used on another machine
 

this is odd - icq keeps logging off telling me my # is being used on another machine. I pray my # wasn't hacked.

Sounds like it was hacked..I had that happen on a few 6 number ones

i have had that happen, only when i share the same icq on two computers and login on the second, it automatically loads it up.

Change your password quick! I had my old icq # stolen by some russian schmuck during a period where I wasn't using it at all. At least you're getting warnings.

Might be a good time to change the password on your account.

well do you have another computer running, that could somehow connect to icq?

Did you do an update and somehow have two versions competing to log in? Just a thought.

hmm this just happened to someone I know; he was running some kind of java based web version though. he just upgraded to the current version which solved it

sounds like a hack to me, . . . only get that message when I login via my laptop and desktop is still logged on

I doubt it is a hack - I had the same issues. It is apparently pretty common. There are fixes online - you will probably have to re-install ICQ.

it looks like somebody is using it on an other pc.... try changing pass

Someone might be using your icq number from a different pc.

your account has been cracked or your running ICQ on another pc/laptop and forgot to log out before loging back on with another comp.. or something on your system is running something to do with icq.. OR just re-install icq and see what that does. =)

That happens to me when I turn on my cell phone, as I have the information entered in there. It turns icq off on my pc, and on on the phone.

I predict the appearance of Anal Hobbit in this thread...
