If you must study martial arts, study from this man...

His technique is crisp, and smooth. He flows from one attack to another.

I would pay good money to train with him.

Yeah right. 10th Dan my ass. Bullshido in it's finest form.

Luc Lonely 06-22-2006 02:26 PM

looking like clowns. I'd kill him with my inch punch .

NoWhErE 06-22-2006 02:28 PM

ok, so he knows basic self defense... lets see him use those techniques against someone thats actually charging or trying to take him down.

From experience, I know there is a HUGE difference from when someone is trying to hurt you and when he is just putting his hands on you for a demonstration

PaulB IYP 06-22-2006 02:30 PM

lmao...no skills

You do know that bullshit won't work on a resisting opponent, right?

Here is a HAPKIDO Instructor taking on Rorion Gracie, of Gracie Jiu Jitsu or BJJ as it's commonly known.

ive always said..training or not...the one who punches first usually wins..especially if the other person doesnt thnk you are ready to throw yet :)

and further the one who wins is usually the one prepared to do more violence to the other person first.

someone throws a punch at you..you lock his arm and break it..fight over.

hey man im sure you are a tough guy and all..i mean you took offense to my post so you must be right? ;)

but if another man of equal size punched you as hard as he could in the face without you being ready for it..it is safe to assume that is about the end of that

now you being prepared for an attack...im sure you would dodge it and move in close to get him on the ground etc

but that is not the scenario i described

In my entire life, there's never been a time when just in a harmless situation, stnading around chilling, somebody who standing in front of me just punched me in the face without any warning what so ever.

People have taken sucker punches at me a few times, and with the exception of taking a punch from this giant beef of a man in the back of the head while breaking up a fight at a party, I've always caught enough of it to suck it up a bit. The fact is, if you're paying attention to the situations you're in, it's unlikely you're just going to eat one in the face. :2 cents:

Amazing how he took on that big black dot

dunefield 06-22-2006 03:26 PM

whats so bad about him? looks like a demonstration more than anything else...

what do you want him to do? jump in the air and disappear?

Dwreck 06-22-2006 03:26 PM

Fighting is for guys that don't get laid......

Yes I got my backlbelt when I was 14. LOL

-SECCO- 06-22-2006 03:27 PM

does not make me hard...not at all

dunefield 06-22-2006 03:30 PM

also i don't understand why everyone relates martial arts to some kind of fighting... some forms like hapkido, karate, judo is more based on discipline rather than taking it into the mma ring and proving you're the tough guy...

Man you really don't anything about real fighting.

It is really hard to knockout a person with a punch. Even if you got sucker punched by someone two times your size the likelyhood of getting knockout is small.

You are right martial arts is just like break dancing, tapping or any other dramatical art which involves moves that looks cool. It takes years to develope the techniques in order for the art to look cool.

EdgeXXX 06-22-2006 03:38 PM

Looks like a horribly choreographed joke. That's just sad.

I guess you don't understand the word discipline...

By the way your comment... "It's hard to knockout a person with a punch", I guess when you're at a club when 2 drunken idiots get into a fight they're not going to go and throw punches...

Not every fight you see is going to be a Pride match... :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Maybe this might help you...

When I was a kid I studied Tang Soo Do for 3 years. I tried to use what I learned in a fight and got whooped. After that I went back to just punches and headlocks which worked pretty good. But now a days people are way better fighters. They're trained better. They know ground work, how to throw elbows and knees, head butts etc. The BJJ secret is out of the bag. If you want you can drive to torrance and train with the Gracies. Bas Rutten and Randy Couture are opening a gym in Hollywood and I'm sure they'll take as many students as they can get.
It's like when Van Halen came out everyone was blown away by Eddie's guitar playing. Doing hammer ons, and pull offs. Now you walk into any Guitar Center and there's guys playing better. Musican's Institute churns them out.

People rarely fight where I'm from. You might get shot, but there will probably be no punches thrown. Actually, playing the tough guy and taking someone down in public is a surefire way to get killed less than 24 hours after the fight happened.

You should have satyed in longer, and learned more. I have been in martial arts since I was 10. I have learend that there is now, and always be someone better than I am, but I can assure you, that I never have and never will lose a street fight.
