FACT: Being a "PUNK" is just a useless step in the personal evolution of some people

and i am so glad i skipped that step totally.

i mean everytime i see a person calling himself and acting like a "punk" it makes me laugh

i mean what makes you a punk?
wearing shitty clothes?
not taking care of your body?

most of the people being punk some timespan of their life quit it some day and they are mostly embarrased to look back at it.

most likely noone stays "punk" till the end of his days.

if you are a punk and i am totally wrong tell me right please.

t- till n0fx or punkworld attack me personally :winkwink:

Tdog 06-22-2006 05:31 AM

When you hit about 30 its time to put the punk hat in the closet.

Zuss 06-22-2006 05:31 AM

Beeing a punk means giving up on society and to rebel against it for own gratification. It's not a way of life I'd pursue, but it's imho highly understandable. to be a punk....

Sarah_Jayne 06-22-2006 05:32 AM

I love punk music - particuarly old punk. Am I a punk? Nobody would think it from looking at me these days but I would say that most punks never totally have it leave them. If you aren't a punk then you aren't suppose to get it.

you gotta face the facts and live with what you can't change.

so what does a punk for a living then?

i listen to some punk tracks too....
but i would never call me a punk

Choppa 06-22-2006 05:36 AM

i was into the sex pistols at high school but i soon grew out of it

biftek 06-22-2006 05:36 AM

punk is not really rebelling against society , it is more about rebeling about the strict nature of things , breaking out of the mould that society expects of a person

Well, good for you. Why care if somebody else does? Punk music was actually responsible for helping to change the structure of the country I live in. So, I am glad there are people that have called themselves punks.

youth need a group , a sense of belonging , i mean take a look at the school yard , it's split up into groups , or for that matter look outside the school yard and into the streets and you will see that no matter what age , people still need a group to belong to

FunForOne 06-22-2006 05:44 AM

Punk = Joining a group with its own very distinct style of dress, music, and lifestlye for the sole purpose of being an unconformist, like everyone else.

Well, when the Pistols kick started things it was about being anti-establishment. When they sang 'God Save The Queen' it was banned. That would never happen today as the rules of society have changed in the UK largely becasue of the punk generation who started to hold the mirrors up to the establishment.

I don't care what anyone decides to call themselves. If somebody feels inside that they are a punk, a goth or whatever it is totally up to them. Who is anyone to tell anybody what to think or do. Part of that view is punk btw :)

wdforty 06-22-2006 05:58 AM

I listen to punk too, but I wouldn't call myself a punk, never was.

totally. 30 is the age you need to hang the goth, punk, metal hats in the closet and present yourself just a wee bit better. not that you HAVE to, but i can not take anyone seriously if they do not take themselves seriously.

Sarah_Jayne 06-22-2006 07:15 AM

but you can take somebody seriously who tries to be something they aren't?

Personally, I have never really dressed to any one style or clan but when I turn 30 in December I am not going to suddenly stop loving punk music, having my same political views, etc.

psili 06-22-2006 07:32 AM

In answer to your first statement, if everyone believed that nothing could be changed, then the world would be a pretty stagnant and boring place.

In answer to your second: Internet professional. Duh.

czarina 06-26-2006 08:35 PM

where does the word PUNK come from anyway?

Drake 06-26-2006 08:36 PM

Never mind the bollocks!

nofx 06-26-2006 09:11 PM

punk is a lifestyle, attitude, way of life, and tons of other things. its not really a label you adhere exactly to a person. 'labels are for cans'

would you please shut the fuck up you jew goatwhore.

you never got to that 'punk' stage because you were a total pussy back in the day and had no friends and probably stomped around in your whitetrash mud boots.
