A friend of mine has gone the the big LAPTOP HEaven in the sky. :(

It's official, he struggled, but jsut couldn't pull through the operation i performed on him.

I got it in 2001, its a toshiba satellite 2805-S402, was the fist laptop built for gaming.

It served me well and now its time to say goodbye. :(

Many years of wear and tear and tradeshows and nightclub abuse have taken it away before its time. It's 850Mhz was still beating, then there was a short.

Its just time, I've ben wanting a new one anyhow.

R.I.P. Friend.

The Dual boot option is cool, but my girl demo'd this at a conference last week and said it rocked.

Apple limits the amount that retailers can sell for. In the case of the $1099 Macbook, you'll find it for about $50 less at places like MacMall or MacWarehouse.

Some of them are even offer units with OSX and WinXP installed.

I feel your loss, my Thinkpad is not long for this world, it would break her heart if I started looking for a replacement while shes still around.

karlm 06-21-2006 04:22 PM

pornguy 06-21-2006 04:22 PM

I have two @#$!@#$!@$@# Toshiba's that are sitting in a drawer because they died before their time (one is a year old, the other is 2 years old)
