Which New Phone? Motorola Q, Treo, or V?

I need a new phone. Which one should I get? The new Motorola Q, Treo, or LG's V?

I would like all of the features offered with the Treo... but the Treo is just so big. LG's V is nice because it's smaller than the Treo, but without as many features. Now there is the Motorola Q, which is smaller than the Treo, but it's got some pretty awful reviews out there. The Motorola Q is cheaper than the Treo as well.

Discuss.

The Q and the Treo aren't really comparable. I thought the same thing, but after getting hands on with both...the Q doesn't compete.

The guy at Verizon said it like this: The Q is a phone with pda capabilities and the Treo is pda with phone capabilities.

I haven't figured it out which one I want just yet, so I'm sticking with my Blackberry.

I want the Treo700 but Alltel is fucking gay and isn't offering it here and have no idea if they will. I don't like the new blackberry as much.

I've had the Q for over a week now and it's great! PC Mag and CNET gave it a great review, but you'll see lots of negative user reviews from people who arne't familiar with the Windows Mobile platform. This is a smartphone version versus PPC version, which I personally like better. It works better as a phone (like candyflip said), which is why I hated my old PPC (Cingular 8125).

Windows Mobile takes some getting used to, but once you've figured out all the shortcuts, the benefits are awesome. I use it to access my slingbox (home tv), listen to howard stern, and play movies. As a phone, the quality is good and loud. The fact that you can fit all this in a slim phone is awesome. The Q will be huge, and watch for tons of accesories and software to roll out specifically for it.

Anyone want to buy the Verzon VX6700 Smartphone, i bought it a few months ago and upgraded to the Motorola Q. Check it out its a great phone, just too big for me. Hit me up if interested

Web Lass 06-21-2006 05:26 PM

Wow, thanks for all the replies. :upsidedow :upsidedow :upsidedow

I think I'm going to go with the Q. I can get it for $100.00 unlike the Treo which will cost me $250.00. Plus the Q is so much smaller than the Treo. I really don't like how bulky the Treo is.

I want a phone first, PDA second, so the Q sounds perfect for me.

I have the TREO 650 still. Very efficient phone.

From what I hear palm is still better that windows mobile for useability. Although I do like some of the companies coming out with software for windows mobile

Get on eBay and buy a Treo 650 like I did. Got it for around $350 and it works great. Get the GSRM(sp) "UNLOCKED" type. Unlocked means it's not tied to any provider. You can buy a SIM chip for around $25 from any provider and then use calling cards. Change countries, change SIM chips, grab another calling card. Plus, you can do some of your web business thru your TREO much easier than the others. I also just put a 2GIG card in so it's running like gangbusters. No, my friend, a TREO 650 is what you want.

Kimo 07-26-2006 07:46 AM

FrankWhite 07-26-2006 07:52 AM

Trixxxia 07-26-2006 05:35 PM

Ok so all you Treo users - please can someone kindly tell me why I can't bring over my contacts from Outlook & why I can't edit the contacts that are on my SIM card (would like to copy them to the damn Treo but can't seem to do it :( )
