Who are your heros?

I'd say that my heros are:

My mother, father, and wife.. cuz they put up with me more than anyone else.. And that takes some superhero shit to do that..

Other than that there are alot of heros out there... Bill Gates, Jackie Robbinson, George Lucas, Larry Flynt, on and on... who are yours?

dont know his name..but i was waiting for a subway once..when i heard a bucnh of girls scream..i thought it was just high school girls or something and didnt look up....but theni heard everyone start screaming.

when i looked up..i saw a subway bearing down on an old lady who had fallen onto the tracks

first scream was her falling...then the train appeared a seconed later and everyone started screaming....anyway...some guy who i didnt get to meet just jumped down in front of the train...grabbed the old lady and dragged her underneath the side.

Balls the size of king kong...never got his name...it didnt even make the paper

That's a pretty good story... people are more capable of doing heroic shit than they are aware of... sometimes I guess it takes something like seeing someone almost die to bring it out in you..

Wow, cool story man.

As for my heros, I really respect pacifists like Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. and John Lennon.

My mom, dad (both my adopted and my real parents, it's a long sad story) and of course my brother because he's always there for me. :) I think that pretty much covers it.

The USA's ICBM arsenals.

As sad as that is, its the reality of what has kept the world's superpowers in check and the USA in the power spot for the past 60 years.

My late granfather would qualify as "hero" to me. I put very few people on such a pedestal, but he definitely fit the bill. He fought in WW I, took 5 pieces of shrapnel to his chest during the battle of Vimy Ridge, lived well into his 80's with one piece of shrapnel right next to his heart. He worked as a town cop for many years in N. Ontario and had a very storied career, quit the cig habit cold turkey after nearly 50 years of smoking (he had 3 cartons of cigs in the kitchen cupboard, but when he decided to quit that was that) --- I admire that kind of decisiveness and resolve and strength of will.

I could write novels about his life.
