OK, I am visiting the Big Apple before Florida...

Some ideas on good hotels and which airport is best (I'm in from Toronto and out to Ft Lauderdale).

I don't need Trump Tower, but around the $300 night mark is cool.

Would also like to meet up with anyone from around the place while I am there.

SURELY someone has some ideas this time....

you would probally like the hudson hotel

Hudson looked cool. last time i was in new york i stayed at the paramount (another ian schrager property at the time, horrible expierence, horrible beds, bedding and towels) It's since been sold to the Melia/ Hard Rock group and might be worth a second look ....

My expierence with new york - was as long as you're on manhattan island it doesn't matter where you stay - cabs are super cheap and everywhere. the subway is also extremely easy to use.

As for airport - la guardia or JFK. Newark is the furthest - but - i think it's got a train that goes straight into the city. Certain airlines only service certain airports. and i think laguardia is closest to the city - so that would be my recommendation

NY hotels have raised their rates a bit over the past month so you will have to hunt on the other sites to match that price.

If your a big guy and want a great place stay at the tribeca grand, its downtown and all the rooms are really big.

if you're flying from TO, La Guardia is your best bet, and usually the cheapest, its like a 50 min flight:thumbsup
