              I disagree.

The lakers from a few years back were like the yankees when they bought up superstars like they were going out of style. Payton, Bryant, Shaq, and Malone at the same time!? And those were just the big names.

That team had the same result as the yankees in recent years...Rodriguez, Johnson, Giambi, Sheffield added to the club.....no championships.

What about Boston buying a championship? No one ever talks about that. Weird.

Heat are nothing like the Yankees - can't do that shit in the NBA cuz there's a fairly hard salary cap - Wade is still under his rookie contract which is pretty modest. Wade's payday comes this summer - they'll be locked into two huge contracts then - they have to hope that Shaq doesn't deteriorate too fast cuz they're stuck with that contract for at least 2 more years

because its not fucking true. we don't have a long list of Hall of Famers on our roster. We don't have the big names.

Manny Ramirez, and Curt Schilling are the only two HUGE names that we signed. Damon, Ortiz etc. were given to us as presents. They proved their worth while they were on the roster and became MLB stars as part of this team.

And what do you know...big fucking suprise the Yankees take Damon. The Yankees sign proven players. The Red Sox take chances and re-sign proven players.

Our payroll is still nowhere near the Yankees.
