What does a webmaster have to make a day to be considered one ?

what $ amount does one have to make to be considered a professional webmaster ? ? ?

my idea would be at least $50 a day , or you should STFU

poisson 06-20-2006 08:36 PM

their possible.

anne 06-20-2006 08:41 PM

Hmmm i would say if its more than what you make somewhere else or its all you are doing during the day then you are a professional webmaster.

:D

enough to cover your expenses and live off of the revenue would be the min IMO

OK... Assuming starting out - there is little point of getting out of bed in the morning for less than $500/day. Sure, give it three months to reach that level, but if it's not working out - make a career change.

That's over $15K/mo. OR knocking on $200K/year. why would you give a shit if someone thought your were professional or not. Many a rep are only making in in the $30-40K/yr area. Would you consider any of then professional?

there's a LOT more folks in this biz doing $30-40K/yr than there are those doing $200K/yr

Assuming a couple of things in that annual income of $200K pussyluver - knock off some servers, content and all the other tools and trivia need to do the job - not forgetting taxes. That $200K soon shrinks.

"Professional" is another story and prob along the lines of qualifications, experience and whatever that can be pulled into acting as a webmaster.

There are plenty wm's out there who are very professional - and they don't earn much for varying reasons - some of that may come from their own "comfort level" and not knocking that.

Shit.. I was earning far more than $500 decades ago and taking inflation/currency differences into account - that money is worth a lot more now.

Wow a whopping $13,000 a year. You better go back to flipping burgers dude. Now I know why you won't pay the $35 for your quicktime pro.

True madawgz. Knowing a few html tags does not make a webmaster.

Some marketing experience, knowledge of the biz, business acumen and a practical familiarity with a languages goes a long way - but there's plenty more after that! :winkwink:

Sure... it's back to that "comfort level" again. However, most "webmasters" in the adult biz, unless they are salaried staff - are operating a business. First indication of "professional" is operating a solvent business and not being a pain in the ass to creditors.

Depends a bit where you live. I'd say as long as you make your living out of it.
That is, someone from a 3rd world country makes enough money to support himself sigwhoring, he's almost a webmaster? :)

$50 a day? You fucking stupid or just retarded?

$50 a day is an amateur...

To be a professional you need to derive all of your income from being a webmaster... Depending on where you live, $140 to $200...
