Anybody here try Balut?
 

Has anybody here tried Balut? A friend of mine tried it when he went to the Philippines and says it's really good. He found a place here that serves them pretty regularly and wants me to try it. I'm all for trying new foods but I have not been able to try Balut yet... any suggestions on how to try it? Should I just dig right in or what?

Suck it out and swallow it down is the best way. 1/2 case or more of San Miguel before hand wouldn't hurt either. :2 cents:

I have trouble eating meat due to a fucked up swallowing mechanism (I dunno what it's called) so the only thing I'm worried about is getting choked on this thing lol. Eating it seems bad enough - getting choked on it seems like I would serve some sort of extended version of hell, Hell 2.0 reserved just for fucks who eat duck embryos and choke on them. As for the San Miguel? suggestion noted ;)

As a young child, I remember how much I enjoyed just cracking the top, putting salt and sucking it out.

when i was in college , i love eating balut.... around 3-7 balut in one day , not everyday.....

that duckling isn't really appealing you know.. then i guess you should eat it in the dark.. but I don't think i can swallow that pink thing..

Was featured in Survivor Pulau. Two of the players had to eat 4 of them in one challenge final (after eating several leading up to it).

it does looks really nasty but it has a lot of good things to give your body....but for me, i didn't even tried to eat that and will never ever. :)
