How much of a tip do you give when you get a tattoo?

I'd say if your tattoo is under 500.00 then 25.00 is cool.

Is it like a standart 15-20% like for waiters? Or a per hour thing? Or just a flat amount?

I usually give a $25 tip, if its a larger and more involved piece than more.

I always give the artist beer. Who doesn't want a nice cool sixer?

At least an extra $50. :thumbsup

no way bro......if the artist does a great job 25 bucks is bad.,.....

if you intend on using same shop and same artists take good care of em....they will take good care back..

Giving a tip for getting a tattoo, much like rollerblading, skiing, 3k dollar watches, boating and reading books, is for fags.

I usually give them $50 or so depending on the work.Then again I have a few that cost me a carton of smokes.I wasn't looking to give "tips" in that situation

Why? It?s mainly because most tattoo artists get this holier-than-though attitude with your ass. ?lmao I?m doing such awesome ART rofl u better give me a tip for this awesome ART LMAO LMAO LMAO? Fuck them up their hairy asses. I know most areas are better than the one I live in this department so this is just from my experience. Nothing pisses me off more than a overly pretentious artist :mad:

Yeah you are right but I was just speaking in general terms. If you plan on getting a lot of work done then tip big, this usually drops the main price a lot too.

maybe your going to the wrong places ... I would never let some touch me with that attitude .. you should find a good artist worth tipping ... I usually give an extra $50 .. if it's a $200+ tattoo which most are .. you should tip them because the shop takes a large % of the money and the artist has to buy there own supplies .. it really helps them out ..:2 cents:
