take a look at those stats for a moment. the $$ amount isnt important here but do the math and calculate the conversions ratios here. the stats above are for ringtones, which should be rather obvious. both industries are similiar in the sense that virtual content is being delivered here, but why are ringtones able to convert at nearly a 1:2 ratio while many porn sites are lucky to do 1:200? If you want a ringtone you have to pay for it, simple as that. Of course it's possible to get them by using a data cable or whatever but your average consumer has no clue how to do that. Now take a look at porn on the other hand, any person with enough knowledge to work a web browser can easily get enough free content to jerk off plenty of times without problem. so how's it feel to know that you all have essentially dug your own graves by giving everything out for free?

I imagine myself a little less poor... ;(!!

kids buy ring tones
they think 1.99$ per ringtone is cheap
they dont realize it adds up


until parents get teh cell phone bill :P

Free porn isn't going anywhere... It's permanent.

It's like saying the video game industry can't sell games cauz of online piracy. It dosen't help, but it certainly helped making the industry bigger in the first place.

If ringtones were free at some places, and you could buy premium ones, 100 x more people would download them.

It will happen to ringtones like it happens to everything.. Some affiliate program will come offering 1 free ring town to get people in the door, competition will offer 2, next thing you know........

Those ringtones are most likely not paid ringtones but from free ringtone offers which convert extremely well. Example the user has to enter his number to recieve what he thinks is a free ringtone, obviously if they read the small print they would see they are billed something like $6/week to recieve more but they are advertised as free which is why they convert. Nice stats there, too bad I was never able to generate that many ringtone leads. :Oh crap

He uses ppc and paid advertising for all his leads. One of his experiments before he used 10k on adwords, yahoo, msn and adbrite and made 140k. That was just on ringtones which have payouts of only $5-$15. He is one of the most well known and best affiliate marketers around.

Free content is going no where and as most of it comes from sites giving to affiliates to put up for free live with it.

But here's what we can do. Problem is do we the balls and our long term interests at heart?

Treat the members so well they would not dream of going to the free porn sector except to find the next site to sign up to.

Now discuss what we have to do to make that happen.
