I read where they believe a monkey must have bit a human and then the human passed it on. I doubt we will ever know how it really was passed from monkey to human.

SIV is not HIV. There is also Feline HIV... this can in no way infect a human being. Many simians share many genetics with human beings, this does not translate into transmission probability. Rodents are not sapians, yet rats can transfer many diseases to human beings. The green monkey theory is only a theory... many theories exist.

There is an interesting film that has been on IFC or Sundance Channel lately about early HIV research on chimpanzees in the Congo (actually on Polio vaccine research but ended up being relative).

There is little actual evidence on the cause of AIDS and the link between HIV and AIDS. Whatever the cause and origins, if it is a government conspiracy (intentional or not), real evidence would never exist, they would never let it exist.
