I was a big recycler back when I drank a lot of soda, but dont drink soda anymore.

When I worked for a coporation and stayed late at night I saw the cleaning people would come and they'd throw the papers form the recycle bin right in with the garbage. They didnt keep them seperate at all, lol

Of course, every dump wants more garbage. They make lots of money off that stuff. Its not about keeping stuff out of landfills.

I recycle anything I can make money off. Soda Cans, Phone Books, Paper... etc... and stuff that I can recycle easily, like used motor oil (OK, I stopped pouring it down the drain after the city gave me a ticket), plastic and styrofoam.

And I wash my hands after I pee -- :)

I have no choice where I live. You are given 5 different types of container and have to separate your rubbish so that it can be recycled or they wont take it away. at first it was a pain in the arse but I am used to it now.

I have a blue bag which I have to put paper rubbish in, green container for food, black container for cans and two other things which I havent got a clue what I am supposed to put in them. They pick up the recyclable rubbish on Tuesday and Wednesday is for anything that can be recycled.

you do the work and others (the rubbish company) makes a ton of money from it.
all the stuff you separate for them they sell.
you work, they make money.
let them hire someone to separate that stuff.

I always try to recycle most of the garbage

The rubbish company is the local council who use the income to help pay for stuff. I look at it as the money indirectly comes back to me in the form of free health care, police services etc.

Nope. We don't have recycling where I live and I'm not earth conscience enough to load the SUV up with trash and take it 40 miles to the next town that does.

We're only allowed 1 garbage can of garbage a week or we have to buy extra tickets from the city, but recycling is free and can even get money back. So yes, I recycle everything possible. :)

Yes we recycle everything that we can.

We have little choice but to recycle here. The city only allows 2 garbage bags at the curb per household each week (hafta' pay for additional ones with a little tag).

So we recycle all cans, bottles, paper and kitchen waste in separate blue boxes (also a green bin for yard waste - leaves, twigs, etc.).

Yes, but I don't go out of my way to recycle.

I did it when I lived where we had recycling. Even took it down the road before they had curbside pick up. I cringe everytime I throw away one of my big gallon jugs of Arizona Diet Green Tea that I go through daily :(

I am big on recycling Where I used to live we had 3 trash cans, 1 for trash, 1 for plastics/cans and 1 for yard waste like tree trimmings...very cool. I am tying to get a yard waste trash can program established here where I live now but it seems like the waste management just doesn't care. Crazy to think this because it would save them so much money on all the city owned parks etc. for compost and the like. I hope I can get it started soon

cans, glass, plastic, cardboard. yep. i really hope most of it actually does get recycled. i know where my parents live there is too much brought in for the recycling places to take and a lot of it just gets taken to the landfill.
