Going to see Zappa tonight

and I am super stoked. From all of the reviews I have read "Tour de Frank" is supposed to be incredible.

Any Zappa fans in the house?

As much as I used to like listening to his stuff (still have a few CD's), I thought he was dead.

me too, although I did listen to a few tracks of his on alternate radio.:pimp

The closest I remember being at one of his concerts was when I saw the Phlorescent Leech and Eddie. I seem to recall Zappa made a guest appearance.

This was a very long time ago, and the drugs were good, so it is a little hazy.

Wow shit I didn't know about this, fuck I think I'm going to get tickets for the NYC show on Halloween. Damn.

I still have Frank's "sitting on the toilet" poster about 6 feet away on the wall behind me. Jeez, that thing must be more than 30 years old and wierd, since it's only paper, that it's one of my few old possessions which hasn't got damaged, lost or left behind somewhere :)

Funny thing was I was looking for some stuff on him a few weeks ago came across a guy that has made his life writing about him and rock and roll. hahaha8211; That writer name is the same as mine (real name) but a few years older!

He is. He died in 1993 right before his 53 birthday of prostate cancer.

Huge Zappa fan - and I have only heard good things about the show.

Eddie Van Halen was Dweezil's guitar teacher btw...

Huge Zappa fan here.. for many years now..

This had to be one of the best all time shows I have seen. Mere words can't do justice to it.

For anyone that even likes Zappa at all...this show is a must see. Dweezil does an amazing job on his fathers music and even is starting to nail down the same hand signals his father used.

Steve Vai and Terry Bozio were outstanding of course and the interaction between the band members and audience was phenomenal.

:thumbsup :thumbsup

It should rock, have a good time :thumbsup

Did you go see that at Meadow Brook in Detroit? I was supposed to go but the weather was too nice so I decided to stay out on the boat. I fucking love Zappa, how was the show?

I think after how many years the spirit of Frank has made it into Dweezil... having seen Frank a number of times in concert, I can say that this is the closest thing you will get now... a very interesting flashback.

Godsmack 06-22-2006 11:55 AM

Will they play in the Netherlands?

I MUST go..

Been loving Zappa practicaly all my life now (37)

Okay, so the memory isn't totally gone. Just re-read the thread and saw it was his son's concert . . . . doubt it would be quite the same. Kind of like seeing Pink Floyd in 2006 as opposed to 1971
