Startup looking for capital. Any angels lurking in the shadows?

I guess this is as good a place as any to post this. I'm trying to secure $100K funding for a new startup here in central Oklahoma.

Private security is a $100 Billion market and employs over 1 million people in the United States alone. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, it will increase another 21-35% by 2008 as companies beef up security to allay fears of crime, vandalism and terrorism.

This business is going to supply highly trained(ex military + police officers) security personnel to homeowners associations(gated communities) and small - medium business, and supply computer forensics assistance to companies and law enforcement agencies that need assistance in data recovery and investigations.

Our future management team has ~40 years of full-time law enforcement and security experience from the local city level all the way up to the federal level, including military experience.

We have a business plan prepared, and is available upon request. Financing is needed to startup the company and give us 6 months of operating capital after we get our licensing, insurance bond, equipment and office space secured. Our break even point is estimated to be 22 to 24 months and we have forecast $1.1million in sales, with approximately $620K in profit before taxes, by FY 2009.

Those interested in discussing this further can hit me up at [email protected] or ICQ 1183251 to obtain my phone #. This is a for real, no bullshit business deal that we would love to be able to complete and hopefully get this business going within the next 30 days.

I do have an appointment next Tuesday with a local Chase branch to discuss my SBA options, but I'm not going to put much faith in the SBA, as I've yet to see them doing anything special for anyone I know.

Good luck with that........... there were a zillion small companies doing it in UK and making reasonable money - but now they brought in a licencing scheme and a lot of the small players will be forced out .

Yeah, I've heard about that. Licensing is cheap here in Oklahoma, for now. $250 / yr for an agency license, and then an insurance bond is $1000/yr for $100,000(the bare minimum) or $10000/yr for a $1,000,000 bond.

Our hook with this business is going to be the computer forensics side of things. I've made contact with a few small police departments in the state that are interested in keeping us on retainer, rather then having to sit and wait in line for the state bureau of investigation to get around to their case.

We'll also offer other things such as private investigations, skip tracing and fugitive recovery.
