every site needs a counter
alright, so we have 3 main counters that most sites use:
Sex Tracker, HitBox, Sex Counter
which is better?

the main categories to pay attention to are how accurate the counters are, how small or large their ads are, how many different features they have, and how small their code is.
i know sex counter pays 4 cents a click now, but i really doubt many people would click on the counter specially when most people put them at the bottom of their page, right?

which of the listed counters would you go with and why?

Sexcounter, cause they pay............ Sextracker isnt accurate and everyone knows that

They're all shit and you should only use them to a) get paid per click because surfers do click on them even when they're at the bottom of the page and 2) to get your site ranked.

Each of the counters you use will give you completely different hit stats so you'll never know how many surfers are on your site using them. You'll have to use your own server based stats program for accurate stats.

In short, the hit counter is but one more means of making money (for the counter company) and nothing more. It's free so you're not going to get the best thing out there but it does have it's little benefits.

Why not just set up your own ??

ok, so your saying not to use a counter if you don't have to?

i actually do not neccesarly need a counter (i will be using CJultra on it which will track hits anyways) but i always figured you should have another tracker on your site just in case you ever wanted to sell the site or something of that nature and you wanted to have something else verify your stats. That was just my own little weird thinking I guess, but what do you guys think?

sextracker is not accurate? Is this really the case pipe? I see alot of the big sites like thehun using them...if it is not accurate, why do so many of the big guys use them?(im not saying you are wrong, just trying to understand if this is really the case or not)

also, if they are really inaccurate, do they actually overcount or undercount?

Third party counters are a big fucking scam.

They dont count worth a damn.

Just go to cgi-resources.com grab yourself a script.

And dont give me the "good for gallery counting when you use a freehost and have no cgi access". Fuck you if you cant afford your own domain and bandwidth. If you cant pay for your own bandwidth, your not doing a good job.

So between a freehost and thrid party counters, you are all taking it in the ass like 3 dollar Thai whores.

ok, what your saying kind of makes sence, but I am still wondering why all the big TGP'S and free sites all have third party counters?

There has to be some other benifit to the counters for the webmaster other then just counting.

Two things.

Just because you run a large tgp does not mean you have any brains. Some people think that if your #1 cj teen celeb jerk site, you are smarter and have a bigger cock. And the newbs will love you and beg you over email to send them some of your shitty traffic. Its a riot, sit back and watch.

And, if for some odd reason, you can land in the top 20 on some counters, you can actually count on a little traffic in return. But if you are #323, you aint seeing shit in return. Your just giving them traffic in exchange for their shitty counting.

labret has you all owned. he's right on the money. big sites put it up so they'll get established as being #1 to all the people who actually look at counter stats and use the counter directory listings.

build your own server-side "counter" - all the client-side ones aren't giving you 100% correct information.

to me it depends on how much traffic

if you have 100k a day on one page, sextracker as you'll get some good hits back...if you have 10k a day, go with the cleanest counter and the quickest. i dont know what that might be. i myself would just use server stats.

I would say personally Hitbox as it's pretty fast to check your stats. Sex Tracker is fucking slown and counts less hits
