terrible game it was a total snoozefest for the most part. England need to pull their socks up if they are going to make any impact. Most promising thing from the match was Lennon I thought. He came on and looked immediately dangerous and started making great runs up the right wing. Tough decisions ahead for Sven, Beckham put in a few really nice balls but aside from that did nothing all game. Lennon transformed the attack on the right.

I disagree - we totally deserved it but still didn't play good football for the first 70+ mins. Even playing badly though we were obviously the better team.

However, once the substitutions had been made the game changed totally and we actually started to look dangerous. Owen really contributes next to nothing at the moment and needs to be left on the sub bench. Lennon was simply superb and changed the whole face of the game. Too early to tell much about Rooney yet but he did manage to help put extra pressure on them.

Remember too that we're far from the only 'big' team to just manage to sqeak past much poorer oposition. It's gonna make for some interestings finals.

Relief at the end though.

I had to turn to radio coverage. Firstly because Radio 5 is excellent coverage and ITV sucks but mostly because I just couldn't look anymore.

That is so mad. I go for the radio as opposed to the tv for two reasons:
1) My TV is quite expensive and when England lose I kick it in.
2) Radio 5 coverage is excellent.

I can see why whenever they show English fans in the audience they have that look of dread - like they're just waiting for something bad to happen.

I guess futility breeds despair?

Radio 5 is great. I would listen just for Allan Green anyway. He was going mental at the team today just like the fans.

It is great when the game in on BBC tv because with digital you can push the red button and watch the tv coverage but have the Radio 5 commentary. When it is on ITV you can't do that and I can barely watch their coverage.

england will go to the next round all you have to do is beat sweden.

We are already through. The win today puts us through. We can lose against Sweden and still go through.
