what the shit... when I first came online we had no fucking graphics you lucky asshole. We had to PRETEND we had graphics by using god damn ascii art. Man... the first modem I had that could actually download any real data was a 2400 baud. Do you know how long it took me to download one fucking TIT at that speed?

I remember back when AOL was cool (2.5/3.0), and all the retarded 13 year olds who could write VB ran their system. Man I miss those days. Or even further back, when the internets consisted of bulletin/message boards, and yahoo was "the place to be".
|
Oh, who can forget the animated gif borders.. You weren't cool unless you had an animated gif border on your webpage.

i was online when it was invented with some crappy ass apple and played games from floppy disks. Took along break and got didnt get back online until 2-3 years ago.
|
yeah, but where did you go for jerk-off material back then? CJs, I was having like 20 browser windows open in order to get 3 pictures, now you go to the nearest MGP and can donwload 30 short clips in a couple of minutes ;)
|
If there is loop holes, people will take advantage of it
|
My first modem was 300 baud lol
I remember dialing BBS's to get porn. Remember these names Horny Rob Tiny Tove McHenry BBS Those names dominated newsgroups and BBS's with porn. |

still got any of that content to share? :upsidedow |
wait, let me try to be old school...
(true story) I remember the first time connecting to the net with my monochrome screen and IBM something-or-other computer. All text, no browser. "Pine" or something. Actually I think there should have been graphic browsers at the time, but I wasn't savvy to them. It was interesting, but i prefer today by far. |
Those were the days.. where it was pure.
|
The time you could end up spending like $500/month on your phonebill... don't exactly miss that part ;)

Screenshot of our old BBS from sometime in the mid 90s.
It ran on Renegade (thanks Cott Lang) @ a USRobotics 14.4 (single node). The ascii menus (made myself) were all animated. We later changed the BBS from a classified ad service to strictly adult/fetish. I started BBSing in 1989 usin' telix, with BlueWave mail reader on a 1200baud external zoltrix on a PC-XT with 640k ram, a 20mb harddrive and a Packard Bell monochrome monitor (later upgraded to an Sperry RGB). :1orglaugh http://www.fetishopolis.com/kap-images/bbsscreen.jpg |

I remember the days where Paint Shop Pro and MS Paint was like the modern day Photoshop. I also remember when huge sites contained no images but just colorful tables and words.
