Life Insurance, how much and WTF?
 

I am getting life insurance. Should I get a few million?

When I talked to my insurance guy he said I'd have to go through a shitload of medical tests.. Like a treadmill and shit...

I don't plan on dying of a heart attack for about 20 more years and neither have any of my fathers, fathers, fathers...

So why in the fuck are they asking for a battary of tests at age 34?

They want to see how healthy you are so they can gauge the risks re insuring you.

Thats normal. Anything over a 100,000 they put you through the ringer to make sure you aren't dieing and trying to screw them.

Anything over a million and they usually do a series of back ground checks and evaulate your "known associates".

You can be turned down for life insurance for hanging with the wrong crowd.


Side note: make sure the majority of your coverage is term. You can get 30 year-term policies that will cover alot. At age 65, you life insurance needs will be 1/10 of what they are now.

I remember this one Indian guy took out a huge life insurance policy on himself, around $500,000. He then committed suicide. He shows up a few months later in his newly reincarnated form and tries to get his life insurance money for dying. The insurance company goes: Sorry sir, we only ensure you for your first three reincarnations, our records show this is your fourth.
