my armchair lawyer thoughts: no way would it stand up in court even if people pulled links because its an opinionated decision and statement.

sure this type of case can go both ways but so can buying a coffee thats to hot at mcdonalds and suing them.

Well, it went a bit further than that. An offer of compensation was made to take down the links.

I believe it is called "tortious interference" and would most likely stand up in court.

If what was said was untrue, it can be seen as libel and could be collected on for resulting damages.
