If you guys are gonna run articles at least bother to fucking fact check them a little.

That whole peice was full of errors...even the worst publications have more integrity than that...

We thought the story was quite complimentary not only to you but all the other prominent bloggers. Our writer reviewed the principal players and gave a fair look at the adult blogging sphere.
Having said that, we do apologize about getting your hometown wrong. We'll run a correction on that point in the August issue of XBiz World.
As I'm sure you already know, editorial errors/corrections are common in publishing.

I write for Xbiz World regularly, and believe me when I say there is a push to "get it right" over there. My editors are out of this world, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a group of people who "get it" covering ANY industry. That said, the quality of articles and of authors varies based on a number of factors, including the quality of sources, deadlines, and general impact of an error.

I pitched Xbiz a blogging article, it got declined because it was felt the readership wasn't interested in blogs. I agree with you though -- I wouldn't have included you in the article. There are much more important things to talk about.

While I believe in some instances XBIZ may TRY to get it right there is no excuse for the sloppy article on porn bloggers. Im not saying you werent nice to me Im saying the article was factually incorrect throughout.

Did Gene pay you guys to call him the "dean"? hell all he does is cuit and paste from fark linked articles....He isn't even close to luke ford in stature or popularity...If you are going to do a bit on the adult internet that will be read by adult internet pros at least make an effort to get the shit right

I didn't write the article, so I wouldn't know. The extent of my relationship with Xbiz is:

1) I write, as a freelancer, for Xbiz World. I'm paid by the assignment. Promptly, I might add.

2) I am a Moderator of the Xbiz.com forum.

3) I promote Gigacash.

4) I think a whole lot of Giga Bugbee and XBizStephen as people and professionals.

As far as someone paying Xbiz to write specific commentary, I don't know whether to laugh AT you or WITH you -- I guess it depends on whether or not you meant it as a joke.

Again, I agree with you in substance. Articles should be right, to the extent that A) they're about something non-trivial, and B) time allows. Excepting these two circumstances, I think most publications have the ability to get it right, but quality will vary by author and by the quality of sources. Not everyone is an expert on everything, nor should they be.

I'm glad you liked how you were represented, though.

Again, maybe so. I can't lay 100% of the blame on the author without knowing the circumstances, though. Sources have fucked me before with bad information when a deadline has been hours away -- there's not enough time to fully verify, and if the guy sells you a line of shit, it sometimes gets printed. If you take a step back, you'll find it's more important to YOU because of where you're at in relation to the topic.

Xbiz articles are always flawed (they really don't research enough), but we can't expect national newspaper quality (wich are often flawed too) from an industry production can we ?
