questions for audio/videophiles...
I got a new samsung 61" widescreen HD DLP tv the other day... I just picked up a HDMI cable along with a new optical cable for audio out... Do I need to also hook up component cables to view the non-HD programming on digital cable? Whats the low down? I need advice with my new setup and home theater.

What does the manual say? My tv has one of those expensive as fuck HDMI cables but its only for the DVD player that uprezs to HD.

My HD Digital cable box has the HDMI out, but it only seems to work for the digital channels...
I asked here instead of consulting the manuals because manuals are for pussies. |
Oh well, I'll just use the HDMI cable for the high def channels and switch to component cables for the non-hd channels and instead of running the digital fiber optic out from the tv/hdmi i'll do it directly from the cable box to my receiver.
I have cablevision if anyone was curious. |
