Going to NY, where do I EAT?!
I'm not into fancy shmancy restaraunts, I can go to those out here in Vegas anytime I want..
I'm looking for the hole in the wall joints with AWESOME food, culture & good prices. Not the plastic small portion shit that'll cost me a couple hundred bucks for me and my girl... I'm not trying to pinch pennies, but I know for a fact some of the best places I've ever eaten at back home in SF / bay area were small family run places that were relatively inexpensive. I'm sure NY has a ton of of those too! I'm up for anything, tell me where your favorite places or vendors are (keep me out of the PJs though!)... I'm going to be there for 4 days...staying at the W in times square. |
Nathans .... lol
they have great hot dogs... and i believe you can both eat for under 12 bucks...hahaha |

Luger's is still my favorite steakhouse of all time, eventhough i live by the one in manhasset and another 5 other good steakhouses on LI, i still make the trip to brooklyn because its the best way to eat a steak. :glugglug |
pepe roso in chelsea or pepe giallo in the east village. The best fucking real italian food you will ever have. It's cheap too!!
Absolutely hit Katz deli and have yourself a pastrami on rye. When your done go around the corner to Gus' pickles and get yourself a quart of full sour pickles. And like they said get the hotdogs at grays papaya, it's a ney york tradition. |

ChurrascariaPlataforma on 41st and 8th I believe...
Brazilian BBQ place. They give you a disc..Green side up, they keep bringing food. Red, the food stops. Awesome cuts of different meats. Different types of steaks, chops, etc. All you can eat for $45, not including drinks or dessert. The place is always packed and some nights they have a live band playing Brazilian music. Damn I miss NYC! |

between that and the crazy horse my saturday nights dont end until about 2pm on sunday :) |
Sylvia's NYC on 126th st in Harlem is a must.
Cafe Habana on Elizabeth & Prince for greasy Cuban food and absolutely beautiful models is required reading for sure. After hours, after the club, make sure to go to Cozy Burger on Broadway and Astor for the best diner style burgers. For the rest of it I suggest you wander around and try your luck. That's what I try to do most of the time. I have a few favorites but NY is a city that has the most restaurants per square mile of anyplace on earth. Find something new then tell us about it. |
If you have room for dessert, go to Magnolia Bakery in the Village. Best cupcakes in the WORLD:winkwink:
|
mcdonalds!! lol!

10 years straight of #1 zagat ratings for "best steak in new york" is complete horseshit... greasy cold overcooked beef from a waiter who treats you like shit and accepts cash only (the waiter is apparently supposed to act that way). I've been several times and it's always the same and the food always sucks. If you want a great steak hit Shelly's on 57th & 6th... best in the city. |
If you really want to have great italian food, then fly over to Europe, certainly worth it.
