Fastest way to crop/resize 1600 pic sets?

Paid someone to do this a while ago.... but after excuse after excuse and them not delivering , i'm just going to do it my damn self :Oh crap

so what's the fastest way? any way i can set something up so that i just point it at a folder with 16 images... and it auto makes 16 thumbs for the pics in the format i want?

for example.... it renames all the files in the folder in numerical order .. ( 1-16.jpg)

and then makes a thumb for each of them and makes then named tn1-tn16.jpg

???

any help would be appreciated

Yeah in the batch options for how to handle saved files. I never use it. I just use a batch renamer but PS can do it.

I can do it in less tha 2 seconds with 5 lines of code on OSX or Linux with SIPS (scriptable image processing system)
" sips -s format jpeg picture.png --out picture.jpg" just to change the format or -c, --cropToHeightWidth pixelsH pixelsW etc...

No need to get complex software to do that tasks.

Yep it will~~~

aico 06-12-2006 06:39 PM

To rename the files:

1. Open the photoshop file browser, browse to the folder containing all your pics.

2. without having any of the pics selected, right-click on the blank area to the right of all the thumbs.

3. Choose: Batch Rename.

4. Set up your parameters, and hit ok

Bam, they are all renamed.

YARGH! I thought I was pretty good with Photoshop, but I didn't know this trick. Very cool Aico.

I usually change my screen resolution, that resizes everything

just another priceless advice brought to you by Antonio !!!

fuzebox 06-12-2006 07:22 PM

I could write a script to do it in a few minutes...
