The Operating system of relationships

Got this off the http://www.sinfest.net forums and made me laugh.

Women Run Unix, Men Run MacOS
This post is intended to amuse and provoke thought. Please take all generalizations with a grain of salt.

Women run Unix. Women use a command line interface: it requires confidence and a detailed knowledge of subtle syntax. To really learn Unix, you need to find someone who already knows it to teach you. Most non-Unix users find Unix confusing, and can't make heads or tails of it. That doesn't mean that it doesn't make sense, but you need to understand the environment to figure out what's going on.

Men run MacOS. They want a pretty visual interface. Sometimes it can be hard to find a button to do what you want, but there is no subtle command line interface. Anyone can use MacOS with minimal experience or training--it isn't as picky about its user base.

Relationships tend to be like Windows. Both MacOS and Unix can emulate Windows, but it's not their native language. People are often concerned that Windows is prone to crashing, which can cause you to lose your work. Some security buffs will also point out that Windows is full of ways people can steal your personal information, although these problems can be avoided by knowledgable users.

The only solution is OS X: an operating system that combines the graphical interface of MacOS with the command line of Unix. This means compromises on both parts, but hopefully takes the best of both worlds. Men can learn to use the command line with confidence, while women can learn that sometimes a less complex interface works just as well.
