it doesnt matter how much you owe as long as everything is kept up to date...infact if you never had any loans or anything your credit score wouldnt be very good or bad because you have no history.

I'm somewhere in the 700s

madawgz 06-12-2006 12:27 AM

how do i check?

If you have a SS# or ever paid taxes then yes you do have a credit score.:2 cents:

JimmiDean 06-12-2006 02:07 AM

It does matter how much you owe, even if you have to much credit availible
(ie credit cards) it can lower your fico score.
Also how many times you apply for credit (searches) lowers your score somewhat.
You have to carry some loans but keep it in proportion to your availible credit to have a high score.
I am sitting at 790 at present, it gives you some geat bargining power at the bank

850 is the highest it can go unless someone does something to change the bell curve.

davecummings 06-12-2006 09:34 PM

They ran one when I picked up my 2007 Camry Hybrid last month, even though I paid it in full with a money market check; my FICO was 832.

Your FICO score will range between 300 and 850. If your score lands in the 300-500 range you have some serious financial problems. Basically no lender or company will want to do business with you without charging you some mighty hefty fees and interest rates.

Above 500 the Fair Isaac computers sort you into one of six basic ranges:

THE FICO RANGES:
720-850 BEST
700-719
675-699
620-674
560-619
500-559 WORST
But you will say, "Fuck that bitch!"

OK... How about FairISAAC, they created the score and run www.myfico.com for those who wish to check out their own score.

Code:

If your FICOŽ score is:          Your interest rate is:          ...and your monthly payment is:
national interest rates, updated daily
760 - 850        6.3%        $1,337
700 - 759        6.52%        $1,369
680 - 699        6.7%        $1,394
660 - 679        6.92%        $1,425
640 - 659        7.35%        $1,487
620 - 639        7.89%        $1,569

But they probably just put in 850 to let us all know we suck and can never get there... Bastards...

Why 06-13-2006 03:56 AM

i believe they also got the shit sued out of them in a class action because they billed people they werent supposed to.

i used them years ago and i remember getting an email a while back stating i was part of a class action. that makes experian, paypal, verizon and google that all fucked me at some point and got fucked for it. Big business sure is scammy.

So if you ever want to buy a home, you will do so all in cash? Even if you do, your credit score is still evaluated. Everybody should be aware of their FICO.
