If you break the seal your warranty is done

Why would you want to open it?
I'm sure it's a "no user serviceable parts" thing in there..

Why I don't get that fucking front plate removed. How they get it removed in the factory ?

unavoidable 05-27-2002 07:43 PM

the reason you can not break the seal, is because there is nothing in there for you to fix. If there is a problem with your hdd, just contact the manufacturer and have them send you another.

I think there's a screw under one of those stickers.
I once openned one:) there's not much to look at

sheesh, is it that hard to figure out? they (the factory) removes the seal, which reveals another screw. They do not need to worry about voiding their own warranty.

Only 1 screw is very strange, I don't have a screwdriver for it :(

you can not take a hint can you? they are trying to tell you something. here are your hints so far:

1. Label telling you not to do it or the warranty is void.
2. Screw type that the average person will not own tool to remove it.

Since you seem bound and determined to fuck with it, why not just drill a hole in the screw and use and easy-out? Or better yet, the cover is not that strong, surely you can chisel the head off or just pry the cover until either the screw or the cover gives.

A 9mm should open it rather easily too :ak47: :ak47: :warning do not remove, no user serviceable parts inside :warning
