If you're not a photographer, don't buy a digital SLR. Your pics will look worse than if you took them with a camera phone.

what do you suggest than for action shots?
i enjoy taking pictures of my daugther but all my digital cameras ive had take forever before i can take another one
and i've played with the canon i posted and it shutter time thing is reallyyy fast

I wouldn't know what to recommend. I've got a Nikon D70 myself, but it's a digital SLR as well. Last time I bought a regular digital camera was 3-4 years ago.
