Just blew $4k on...a bed

I sit at a desk for something like 16 hours a day, working on various things. Wife and I had an old 'air bed' with the 2 air chambers that you can raise or lower to suit how you like your bed.

I've had referred leg pain for months now, PT and chiro say its from lower back from sitting...so this morning I woke up semi pissed off and told the wife 'lets go bed shopping'.

3 hours at the matress store later...now the semi proud owner of a temurpedic celebrity series bed.

Should have it on tuesday, we'll see how I like it...

madawgz 06-11-2006 06:40 PM

cadillacking 06-11-2006 06:42 PM

GrouchyAdmin 06-11-2006 06:45 PM

Man, you can find some great beds beside the dumpsters at apartment complexes. Already broken in! ;)

Spunky 06-11-2006 06:45 PM

Sweet bed man..damn expensive

tony286 06-11-2006 06:46 PM

I heard they can be very warm, if they are as good as they say its worth it considering you use 8 hrs a day everyday.

RogerV10 06-11-2006 06:46 PM

I have that sleep number bed. Works great.

avalanche 06-11-2006 06:46 PM

Mr. Romance 06-11-2006 06:48 PM

Yep, last year I bought a new bed and new King mattresses and the total was around $6k, but I swear it is the most comfortable thing that I have ever laid on. :thumbsup

Smart move and make sure your work chair is comfy as well.

SinSational 06-11-2006 09:55 PM

i've been considering a tempurpedic. the lower back pains are getting worse.

Louis Boo 06-11-2006 10:15 PM

A great bed! Actually any of the memory foam pads are good too. If you're on a budget, place one of them on your old bed and it's like having a new bed with the added benefit of the memory foam! They only cost about a $150 and can extend the bed's life (and maybe yours ;-) another 5 years.

From a long time bad back suffer...:Oh crap

MaddCaz 06-11-2006 10:18 PM

shit 4G? Yeesh

J$tyle$ 06-11-2006 10:29 PM

I have the tempur pedic with the "craftmatic adjustable" and "zone massage/vibrating" features.

BEST bed in the world!

Totally comfy and has helped tremendously with my bad back.

One of the greatest investments I've ever made!

Enjoy it!

:)

Quotealex 06-12-2006 03:56 AM

For skinny people, nothing beats a futon bed. There are great and don't cost much, but you do need to turn it over a few time a week...

germ 06-12-2006 03:57 AM

i have the same mattress except i got it for 900 at a warehouse.

:pimp

NTSS 06-12-2006 07:11 AM

One of those is in my future :) Good choice.

Jay 06-12-2006 07:48 AM

Has anyone ever tried KingsDown beds? I've been having some terrible back problems and this bed was recommended by my Chiropractor.

I've been considering the temurpedic but I have heard they really hold in the heat, and being in South Florida, I don't want a hot bed. I need to buy a new bed soon too...:helpme

E$_manager 06-12-2006 08:32 AM

what you did with the old one?

Gerco 06-12-2006 08:46 AM

YUP, Great bed. I have had a king sized one for the last 3 years. Best money I ever spent. It's wierd, you go and hope on it and expect to bounce a little from the hop, but you just stop cold and it molds around you... LOL weird feeling. BUT SEX in it SUCKS! You sink into it to much to really do anything and the bed eats all your energy... so get yourself a nice lovechair or something, cause your going to want it.

E$_manager 06-12-2006 08:53 AM

tell us if the bed will solve your problem with back. i think you should
try e a massage.

Jill_J 06-12-2006 08:58 AM

congrats:thumbsup I hope you and your wife will like the new bed:winkwink:
