its been a long wait for australia. 32 years after their last and only appearance, also in germany. Coach hiddinks abilities as a coach are essential to australia progressing to the knockout stage.
They are weak in defence with a back line that is slow and sometimes clumsy. The aim will be to pressure the opposition further up the park. They will look to win their first game again japan and its a fairly easy start. However, the speed of the japanese could give the back line some trouble, but australias superior firepower should mean a winning start. Qualification could come down to their meeting with croatia, a hard game with a closely matched team - but one australia is more than capable of winning! Good luck.. I'll root for you guys! :) |

Looks like the Aussies saw the weak spot in the Japanese team just in time.
Imho the Japanese were dominating much of the game untill the Japanese goallie made his first mistake. If a goallie comes out he needs to have the ball. He probably though he was playing against people with similar size though. 1-1 The second Australian goal was a very good goal. With the thrid Australian goal the keeper made another mistake. Instead of coming out and making the goal smaller he choose a corner. The Australian attacker noticed it and plunged into the other corner of the goal. With this goallie the Japanese will not have a single chance aganst Brazil. They better go home to prevent double numbers. Congrats Australia! |

Last 8mins 3 goals, take that you cheating fokers. I tell ya if we had have lost that game due to that shonky ass Jap goal, It would'a been on for young and old. But in saying that what a ripper of a game, bring on Brazil. :)

Just back from the city, go the fucking socceroo's. Fucking 2 hours to walk down George St, went off. Be watching rthe news tom, plenty of camera's catcing all the celebratuions! LOwnbrau is great venue!
