Try Landsdown St, and you've never been to a ball game unless you go to Fenway. Eat in the North End but don't go anywhere that has a big sign (hope you like Italian). Take a quick trip to Glouster or Salem. Eat at Hilltop Steak House on Rt 1 in Saugus. See what's playing at Charles Play House. If you have the time, take an hour drive south on rt95 to Providence and go to Federal Hill.

Go to Quincy Market if you like fast food, though there are some good alternative food stands there. The North End has some awesome restaurants if you like authentic Italian. Observe small groups going into very small places and you'll know it's a winner. Some of the more commercial places suck.

What part of Boston are you staying at? The Combat Zone is virtually gone but you can find an occasional hooker there!

You can head up to Gloucester or Salem as suggested or head down here to the Cape. It's not too crowded with tourists yet.

Take a walk around Beacon Hill and you'll find some great little restaurants on Charles Street.

Go to the Bull & Finch Pub - but NOT the replica Cheers in the market (over-priced, poor service...staff does everything they can to clear the table and usher you out as fast as humanly possible - a real tourist trap).

Check out the site of the Boston Tea Party.

go to the restaurant at the top of the prudential and get a dessert & coffee in the afternoon or a drink at the bar at night.... best view of boston. If you go to the observation deck and not the restaurant, they charge you like $10 bucks so you might as well get something for it and chill at the restaurant
