What is an average lifespan of a poster on GFY?

With me, I really get into something and it fades. Dont know how long this will last but it is hella fun right now.

But seriously... this board has been around for a while and I see lots of people with a relatively low postcount and just a handfull with high ones.

Good question...lately I have been focusing more on the boards than i have in the past and will continue to make it part of my day..

I can honestly only count maybe 1 or 2 people that I wonder where they went, and the others that don't post here are still around, just not on gfy

i guarantee he won't be here in 6 months....I have seen so many come and go just like him, they either start taking meds and realize this place isn't fun anymore or the hours of their day job get kicked up to the point where they don't have the time anymore

I am sure a lot lurk as well.

How many posts (as long as they arent insignificant) do you have to reach before you arent considered a "n00b" anymore?

I have been at one forum (abovetopsecret) for around 4 years now. I post there still pretty regularly. Hope to be here for a while at least, some nice people here. Well? not nice as in nice. Nice as in.. nice.

I don't think that really has much to do with postcount... or join date for that matter. Once in a while I see people with join dates of 2003 or 3000+ posts asking for some very very basic info that most people would know after doing this full time for a week or so.

I still consider myself somewhat of a noob and I've been doing this for a while...

The average lifespan of a gfy poster is WAY lower than you'd think, on account of many many people leaving very quickly. Most don't notice, but if you travel some other boards, you'll periodically see people posting about how they came but couldn't stand it.

All those who come here, hate it and bolt right away would bring the average down quite a lot.

Im sure it depends on how long you want to run your business. There is always some room for a few posts.

I've been on this board for a while...

GFY has been around for many years and i guess many things are parameters as to why people come and go

I find the girls dont last as long as the guys. I can name multiple flavors of the month that were here all the time and then disappeared.

Probably few years, then they get tired of it and leave.

Yea, you are so right about that. There have been a number of girls here that start posting? but are just gone after a few months.
