fuck yea.. softshells are fucking good shit man.

Cool - The farmer's market in ATL gets them. I'll have to swing by and pick up a few. We pan broil them in butter and put them in homemade bread with spiced mayo.
And yes, you can get them in Costa Rica - this is new world - they have a thing called "FedEx" now :) |
I loves me them softshell crabs deepfried at Tony's Sushi in South Beach........fuck, my mouth is watering just thinking about them!!
|

I am so upset. Used to live in Maryland (grew up there). Noone out here (in vegas now) knows about bushels of crabs. All my friends around here have to get them flown in.
I miss my Crabs with Old Bay :( |

i'll take care of your old bay craving....i live a half hour from popes creek the finest crabs in all of maryland, near the 301 bridge/waldorf & bring friends 440-887 |
I love seafood but grew up with a sister who was/is deathly allergic to shellfish and then was with a husband who would hurl at the thought of anything from the sea. So, my seafood experiences are not as vast as they should be. I do miss good lobster from when I lived in the Boston area, though. Good clams too. Over here they are big on cod, etc but shelfish doesn't appear to be that popular.

My mother lived on the river in Jax and had crab traps set. Wouldn't get but maybe one a day, but it was still fun. Plus seining at the beach and shrimping off her dock when the shrimp were running. Fresh caught seafood is the BEST :) |
Sea food rocks! and cabs too!
|
are those the ones you have to cut the eye out and then pick out the membranes? i remember having to do that like 8 years ago when i worked in a seafood department.
