I need a complete database or list of confirmed known hitbot ips
anyone got a link to a list & the most effective way to block them, short of a 100k .htaccess, or manually adding them individually into trade scripts.
The .htaccess would only block them from accessing the site, but would still put a load on the server, so, what other options are available? |
hmmm....
Maybe I should've included a pic & a would you hit it thread :1orglaugh |
pay the mafia, don't get hitbotted

yea...pretty much impossible, i attempted it back in 2002'...i even had a nice blocklist up, but after a month (even after dupekills) we were sitting at about 800k in filesize....anything over that would have seriously drained server response time, making it useless
the only real way to do it is to block out useless ranges....i.e. 202, 213, etc. but today even useless traffic even has a value infact if i remember correctly the tgp guys were laughin it up when i made my blacklist....saying even hitbot traffic had a value : ) |
