Neighbors but one up. Looks like shit. Prolly works 'n all, but think it drove down property values.

LOL...well, we are on a corner lot, so no one can see it but us...but I can understand what you are saying and I agree, I think it would look like shit for the neighborhood if we put it in the front or if someone made theirs visible

we just want some water in our backyard, and we won't be getting the pool back there til next year, and the 100F 100% humidity days are coming up here in Atlanta

Jon Clark - BANNED FOR LIFE 06-09-2006 02:35 AM

they are actually pretty sweet! my mom has one for the grand kids and has set it up now for the third year, my kids, nieces and nephs are wild, they get in there 20 at a time and it holds up!

nancycash(dot)com 06-09-2006 04:52 AM

i'm going to buy it, but i have doubts in longevity of this pool.

xclusive 06-09-2006 05:11 AM

go for it, I don't like the looks myself but that don't matter when the heat and humidity is so bad in atlanta.

HighSociety 06-09-2006 05:43 AM

how much do they cost?

brand0n 06-09-2006 06:56 AM

if you get that, im driving to ATL to eather a) pee in it or b) pop it :2 cents:

StuartD 06-09-2006 07:23 AM

My mom got an oval one... I think it's great. Easy setup, maintenance.... great for those who don't want the hassle of a full pool that is a permanent fixture.

I'm betting there's a lot of urine in that pool....

G-Rotica 06-09-2006 07:26 AM

Is there room between your trailer and your neighbors?

j/k but that's what it makes me think of.

camouflaged123 06-09-2006 07:28 AM

i dont think it would be good to have a pool like that!

Damn, it does get fucking HOT in Atlanta. The only place worse I've been to is Houston. Dallas is no far behind.

p1mpdogg 06-09-2006 08:44 AM

any idea how much piss is in that pool with all those little shits in it?

stickyfingerz 06-09-2006 08:50 AM

We are doing an inground either end of this summer, or sometime before next summer. Cheaper to get them put in in the off season. Course those pools in the pic are like 300, or 400 bucks. Not a bad deal to stay cool with for a few summers.

E$_manager 06-09-2006 09:21 AM

it will become dirty - the water will become overgrown and you will have to take the water away and clean it with soap. and then put the water again

LBBV 06-09-2006 09:25 AM

We had one of those before we put in a real pool. Much cheaper than the $60k we spent putting in the real pool :-)

Some pics of the construction. I have pics of the finished project...just haven't uploaded them yet.

I love this pic. I call it "anticipation" :thumbsup

http://lbbv.com/pool/pics/0017.jpg

Just make sure the portable pool is on VERY level ground or you will have problems with it. I can't stress this enough....

Also, the wimpy little filter that is included with it doesn't really keep it very clean. Ours always looked like it was filled with swamp water. If you can find a larger filter for it, I would recommend that.

Sarah_Jayne 06-09-2006 09:41 AM

people are such snobs..if it holds up and does the job who cares

axelcat 06-09-2006 09:43 AM

my friend has one of those and he loves it

MaddCaz 06-09-2006 09:44 AM

shit I could use A pool...

Sarah_Jayne 06-09-2006 09:49 AM

plus, I have to tell you, if they made one that I could fit on my balcony in the UK I would go out and buy it right now. SOOOO hot but it only gets this hot for a few weeks in the year so why would most people here have a real pool put in. That said, don't even think they are on sale here.

MandyBlake 06-09-2006 09:53 AM

our community has a pool so i'm happy about that. i went once so far this year. it was wonderful!

If you are hot and don't have a pool, then I say go for it. It is hot as hell here in AZ, and any pool filled with water feels so good. Who cares what other people think.

haha, oh, I could care less what people think, I was just wondering if anyone had one of them so they could tell me how they actually are, as far as being sturdy and lasting a while

I would love to stop work each day and go lie in a raft in my hillbilly pool for a while...haha

and ex under the stars in a pool in the backyard would be nice every now and then

nico-t 06-09-2006 06:34 PM

it looks fucking retarded.

Very true, if you are even slightly off the sides will warp and you can't fix it.

We had one up temporarily while we were putting in our inground pool, they are okay. If you're down south you may want to get a little fountain attachment for it, the water gets hot pretty quickly and the fountain helps cool it down a little.

interracialtoons 06-09-2006 07:54 PM

Don't spend more than $300 for a piece of shit pool like that. It will tear up in no time flat and you will hate it anyway because you will not put the proper chlorine in it and fail to drain it and it will become a big slimy mess that you have to beg the garbage collector to take it away.

well, with any pool you have to take care of it...we are pretty good about taking care of shit

btw, do you have one or are you just talking out of your ass?

minusonebit 06-09-2006 08:06 PM

Who gives a shit what it looks like. If it works, go for it. Check your local ordinancnes though, alot of them require a fence and they get bitchy about it...

who said anything about the way they look?

once again, for those that can't read, I am wondering about the pool in general, not how pretty it is

notabook 06-09-2006 08:18 PM

I would definately read up on your ordinances.... here you have to have a 'sturdy' fence around any pool, in-the-ground or above-the-ground, doesn't matter. One guy got found here cause he had a large kiddy pool (about 1/4 as big as that one pictured at the top) because he didn't have an enclosure around it lmao... you have to put up a big sign as well on your fence saying "warning: no trespassing" and a few other stupid ass things as well. I guess there was at one time a real problem from kids going apeshit and killing themselves in other people's pools? hahahaha
